Privacy policy
Last updated 22 September 2026
This policy explains how dbSigma (“we”, “us”) uses personal data on dbsigma.com (the “site”). We are a private E-mini S&P 500 (ES) trading desk journal, not a broker and not a signal service. We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Controller: the operator of dbsigma.com. Enquiries: admin@dbsigma.com.
1. What this site is for
The public pages describe the journal. Signed-in, approved members use the journal, checklist, trading plan, and daily and weekly reviews. We collect only what we need to run that book and to keep it private.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data. Email address, display name, and sign-in identifiers when you register with email, Google, or X.
- Access status. Whether your account is pending, approved, or declined. New accounts wait for administrator approval.
- Journal data. Trade analysis, notes, images you upload, checklist use, daily and weekly reviews, and similar desk records you choose to save.
- Contact messages. Name, email, subject, and message if you contact us.
- Technical data. Session cookies needed to keep you signed in, and a hashed network identifier used only to rate-limit the contact form.
We do not collect payment cards, government identity documents, or biometric identifiers. We do not run a public leaderboard of your trading results.
3. How we use it
- to create and administer your account;
- to decide and record desk access;
- to store and display the journal you write;
- to answer messages sent through the contact form;
- to keep the site secure and to limit spam;
- to meet a legal obligation if one arises.
Lawful bases: contract (providing the journal you asked for), legitimate interests (security, spam control, administering a private desk), and consent where you send a contact message or upload content. You may withdraw consent for optional contact by asking us to delete the message.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it for advertising or remarketing. We use processors only to run the site:
- the Grok / xAI platform that hosts the application and database;
- Google and X, if you choose those sign-in methods;
- the email relay that forwards contact form notes to admin@dbsigma.com.
We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the desk, its members, or the public from harm. Hosting and some processors may sit outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards used by those providers.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies (and equivalent storage) so that a signed-in session can persist. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not drop analytics products for cross-site tracking. If you block essential cookies, sign-in will not work.
6. How long we keep it
Account and journal data are kept while your access is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards if we must resolve a dispute or keep a security record. Contact messages are kept so the administrator can answer them. You may ask us to delete your account and journal; we will do so unless we must retain a limited record for legal or security reasons.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may have the right to:
- access a copy of your personal data;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask for erasure, restriction, or portability;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Write to admin@dbsigma.com. We may need to confirm it is you before we act.
8. Children
The site is for adults. Futures trading is not a children’s activity. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
9. Security
Access to the journal is behind sign-in and administrator approval. Transmission over the internet is never perfectly secure. You are responsible for your password and for any device you leave signed in.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you have read the new version.
